Little Miss One Wheel Drive is now 5 years old and in her second year of riding a bike on her own. Being the most special person in my life, I wanted to pass on my love of riding to her so that she could also enjoy it early on, and in teaching her I […]
Ottawa bike to work month just finished. I think that I met my goal of 250km and beat it by some, but not really sure by how much because I do a horrible job of tracking my distance.
Hello everyone, There are many people in Ottawa concerned with making cycling safer, including, to my surprise, someone that I had only known as the Twitter user Ottawa Driver. Unbeknownst to anyone, in his capacity as President of the local group Citizens for Cycling Safety Without Removing Parking, he has been working with city transportation officials to […]
I love biking. It’s the best way to get around town. And a lot of bike-loving, tree hugging, latte drinking people look down in disgust at people who still get around by car. Not me! I love cars.

Because of everything that went on in my near dooring, I now had a better appreciation of the dangers of biking in Wellington West. I was so shaken by the incident that I decided to get a video camera for my bike, something like a GoPro, but being the frugal guy that I am, I […]
Mr. One Wheel Drive is a stranger to danger. I’ve biked around Ottawa for years, going about my business without doing anything special, just getting from A to B as simply as I could. Everything went just fine, I never got honked at, took the lane when I needed to, stayed predictable and visible, and […]
After the first season my home-made bike trailer has been kicking ass in a big way. I’ve hauled some seriously heavy loads and used it lots of times that I would have previously used my car. Costco runs are a breezy bike ride through fields of freshly mown grass instead of stuck at red lights. […]
